About Leah

Leah Dawer is a dedicated and experienced teacher with a master's degree in education. She has spent over seven years teaching in the classroom, working with students of all ages and ability levels. Leah has a deep understanding of how children learn and is skilled at tailoring her teaching approach to each individual student's unique learning style. She has been recognized as one of the top 20 tutors in NYC for four consecutive years.

• Language arts tutoring: Leah provides support and instruction in reading comprehension, reading fluency, decoding, spelling, phonics and phonemic awareness, writing, vocabulary, and literature.
• Math tutoring: Leah offers assistance in computation, problem solving, numerical fluency, geometry, and measurement.
• Test prep tutoring: Leah provides expert guidance and instruction for the NYC Gifted and Talented entrance exams, including the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT) and the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT2), as well as preparation for the annual Common Core state test in ELA and Math and classroom exams in a variety of subject areas.
