At Grass Flats Fishing Charters, we are dedicated to providing a first-class fishing experience for our clients. As a USCG Certified Captain, I, Mike DeFranco, have always been passionate about fishing. My journey as a fishing guide began when I mentored a struggling angler who couldn't catch a fish during his entire trip. After spending time with him, he landed his first King Salmon, and that moment solidified my decision to become a fishing guide.

Our Services

We specialize in inshore fishing on Florida's Nature Coast, offering half-day and full-day charter trips. Our standard rates include the use of top-quality equipment, including G Loomis and St. Croix rods and Shimano reels. We cater to a limited number of anglers, ensuring personalized attention and guidance throughout the trip.

Our charter boat is an 18-foot flats boat, equipped with GPS/fish finder, power pole, and i-Pilot trolling motor. This allows us to access shallow waters where other boats may not be able to reach. Our goal is to provide an exceptional fishing experience, providing you with the opportunity to catch a variety of fish species, including speckled sea trout, redfish, snook, tarpon, and jack crevalle.

What to Expect

Before your trip, we will provide you with detailed information on what to bring and what not to bring. This includes essentials like sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, camera, food, and drinks. We ask that you do not bring electronics, pets, or black soled shoes/sneakers.

Specialty Trips

We also offer specialty trips, including fly fishing for tarpon and scalloping charters. Our tarpon fishing trip is a seasonal offering, where anglers switch off, and our scalloping charter is a full-day trip for up to three people.

Booking and Cancellation Policy

To book your trip, simply contact us through our website or give us a call. We require a 50% deposit to secure your spot, with the remaining balance due 14 days prior to the trip. In the event of cancellation, we impose a 50% charge for cancellations made 48 hours or less prior to the scheduled departure.
