Our History

The Sewing Box was founded by Wendy Airesman, a lifelong quilter and entrepreneur. Wendy's dream of opening her own quilt shop was realized in 2011, and since then, The Sewing Box has become a beloved destination for quilters from near and far. In 2023, Wendy partially retired and passed on the business to new owner April Hershberger, an eager quilter and social media influencer with a passion for quilting and a commitment to continuing the legacy of The Sewing Box.

BOLT, Our Store Mascot

BOLT, a sweet Boston Terrier, is The Sewing Box's official mascot and beloved member of the shop team. He can often be found greeting customers and providing comic relief during busy days at the shop. Fans of BOLT can often find his likeness on shop merchandise and accessories.

The Sewing Box is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We are closed on Sundays. We offer free shipping on orders over $75 within the U.S., and we welcome customers from near and far to enjoy our space, our community, and our passion for quilting.
