Founded by Sandy Glenn, a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, in 1987, the company started as a small lighting gallery with a focus on custom design and a passion for contemporary lighting. Since then, ALR has grown and evolved, changing its name from Lamps, Lights, and Shades to its current name and relocating from Miracle Hills to Rockbrook Village, Midtown, the House & Home Center in West Omaha, and finally to its current location at Empire Spectrum. Throughout all these changes, ALR's commitment to providing unparalleled lighting design services and exceptional customer service has remained constant.

Sandy Glenn, Founder and Lighting Consultant

With over 45 years of experience in the lighting field, Sandy Glenn is the driving force behind ALR's success. His passion for contemporary lighting and commitment to custom design has made ALR the go-to source for state-of-the-art lighting design and home automation services. Sandy stays up-to-date with the latest products and technology by attending design shows, lighting markets, and new technology conventions. He travels extensively to provide clients with the latest custom lighting design solutions and home automation technology.

Rob Perran, Lighting Designer

With over 20 years of experience in the lighting industry, Rob Perran is an integral part of the ALR team. A native Nebraskan and graduate of Creighton University, Rob's ability to creatively illuminate space within the structural limitations offered has greatly contributed to ALR's steady growth. His detailed attention to each customer's vision and personality ensures that each lighting design is a unique reflection of the client's personal style.
