  • How it Works: When a loss occurs, call us 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We will transfer your loved one to our care. Signatures and vital information are required from the next of kin for cremation to take place (no meeting is required). The death certificate will be signed by the attending physician or medical examiner, filed with the town clerk's office in the town the loved one passed away, and cremation paperwork will be filed. The cremation will take place after the state-mandated 48-hour holding period. Planning your end-of-life decisions in advance, in a calm and thoughtful atmosphere, can help relieve the burden on your loved ones.

Why Cremation?

Cremation is an increasingly popular option due to its lower cost, flexibility, and simplicity. The cost of cremation is a fraction of the cost of burial, which includes the price of a casket, burial vault, cemetery plot, grave marker, and burial service. With affordable cremation, burial costs are avoided, even when families choose cremation burial or cremation urn placement in a columbarium. Direct cremation, cremation without other services, eliminates the cost of a funeral, offering the lowest cost for cremation.

Cremation also offers flexibility in funeral and memorial services. Families can choose to have a funeral service, memorial service, or no service at all, at a time and place that suits their needs. Cremation urns and keepsakes offer a range of options to honor and remember the deceased.

In conclusion, Abbey Cremation Service is a family-owned and operated funeral home that has been serving the entire state of Connecticut for the past 25 years. We offer affordable and personalized direct cremation, immediate burial, and funeral services. Cremation is a lower-cost, flexible, and simple option for funeral and memorial services.
