Union Ave Books is a locally woman-owned independent bookstore situated in the heart of downtown Knoxville, in The Daylight Building, just two blocks away from Market Square. Established in 2011, we have been dedicated to helping our customers find the perfect books for themselves and their loved ones. Our knowledgeable booksellers are always ready to suggest something from our carefully selected collection of books for all ages. We believe that an independent bookstore contributes significantly to the richness of our community, and we are proud members of the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA) and the American Booksellers Association (ABA).

FLOSSIE, BUNNIE, & SCOUT, Owners
Our owners are always present at the store, ready to help you find the perfect book. They are passionate about books and the community, and they ensure that Union Ave Books remains a vibrant part of downtown Knoxville.
MADELINE, Store Manager
Madeline does a little bit of everything, but she mainly recommends books for 7 to 14-year-olds. Her favorite book as a kid was Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine. She does not read sequels or books with maps, but she loves recommending books like How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix; The Unsettled by Ayana Mathis; My Murder by Katie Williams; and I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys.
CHELSEA, Inventory & Buying Manager
Chelsea's job is to entice authors to visit Knoxville. Her favorite book as a kid was Two Princesses of Bamarre by Gail Carson Levine. Her favorite vegetable is a green bell pepper. She enjoys recommending books like Dark Matter by Blake Crouch and Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi.
BRYNN, Events Manager
Brynn's role is to bring authors to Knoxville. Her favorite book as a kid was Junie B. Jones. She loves recommending books that inspire and challenge readers.
TORI, Children's & Young Adult Buyer
Tori's job is to buy all the books that she wishes she could have read as a kid. Her favorite book as a kid was also Junie B. Jones. She loves buying books that spark imagination and creativity in children.
