Melissa Chaffin, LMT, is the driving force behind Saanti Massage Studio. With a passion for serving caregivers and those they care for, Melissa's dream of establishing a practice that embraces the senior population and caters to the ever-changing needs of the aging body became a reality in September 2012. Her dedication to Thai Yoga Massage (TYM) stems from its therapeutic properties, which includes a combination of assisted (passive) stretching, movement, and running energy lines. TYM is about creating awareness, openings, and space, often referred to as the "lazy man's yoga, " as the massage therapist performs yoga for the receiver.
In addition to her home studio, Melissa offers TYM sessions at her clients' residences and has even developed a 30-minute full-body stretch specifically tailored for people suffering from Parkinson's Disease. This stretch has proven effective in reducing rigidity and improving mobility, leading to increased independence for those afflicted with this condition.
