Our Mission and Philosophy

At ElderCare Network, our mission is to improve the way we care for elders in Lincoln County by providing quality assisted living for elders of all incomes. We believe that older people should stay in their own home as long as they want, with the aid and support of family members, home health care personnel, and other community services. When their needs go beyond home care, they should be able to move to a non-institutional living arrangement within their familiar community. Our goal is to help residents maintain existing abilities and promote their self-esteem.

Our History

ElderCare Network was established in 1996 to address the lack of affordable assisted living options for low-income seniors in Lincoln County. We developed a model of small, family-style, wellness-focused, community-centered assisted living homes for rural Maine communities. Our first home, Hodgdon Green, opened in April 1998, followed by six smaller village care homes in various towns across the county. Today, we continue to operate these homes, providing a unique blend of independence, support, and community engagement.

Our Services

Our assisted living homes offer private rooms, family-style dining, assistance with daily living, and medical assistance as needed. We emphasize individualized care plans that focus on the quality of daily life. Residents enjoy visits from friends and family, healthy food, fun outings, engaging programs, and activities that promote successful aging. Our wellness-centered approach includes social connections and a strong connection with local communities.

Our Team

Our Board of Directors is comprised of dedicated individuals who share our vision. Our staff includes experienced professionals in administration, clinical care, and support services. We are committed to providing exceptional care and support to our residents.

Community Involvement

Participating in community activities is an essential part of our activity program. We believe that staying connected with the local community is key to a fulfilling life. Our residents regularly participate in town events, volunteer activities, and other community programs.
