Welcome to The Camphill School, a place where education, community, and therapy come together to create a nurturing environment for children and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since 1963, we have been dedicated to providing individualized hands-on learning opportunities, fulfilling work, and meaningful social connections. Our mission is to create wholeness for our students through education, extended family living, and therapy, so they may be better understood, unfold their potential, and participate meaningfully in life.
Our school is designed to be a community where students can thrive. We offer a range of programs, including The Children's Village, Early Learning Center and School at Beaver Run, and The Transition Program at Beaver Farm. Each program is tailored to meet the unique needs of our students, from early learning to transition to adulthood. Our curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, vocational training, and social skills development, all grounded in the principles of Rudolf Steiner's Waldorf education.
At The Camphill School, we believe that every individual has the potential to make a meaningful contribution. We provide opportunities for students to explore their interests and develop skills in areas such as agriculture, art, music, and more. Our farm, workshops, and classrooms are bustling with activity, as students engage in activities that nourish both body and soul.
Our community is built on the values of compassion, respect, and inclusivity. We welcome students from diverse backgrounds and abilities, and our staff is trained to support students with a range of needs. We believe that education should be a transformative experience that fosters imagination, a sense of truth, and a feeling of responsibility.
