Tremont Lumber, a family-owned business, has been serving the Averill Park community and surrounding areas since 1954. Founded by Ken and Dorothy Tremont, the original store was part of the railroad system and acted as the station for Averill Park. In 1986, their grandson Dennis Tremont Jr moved the store to its current location at 2897 NY 43 in Averill Park, expanding the product line by partnering with Ace Hardware Corp. Through the years, Dennis has strived to accommodate a diverse community with a variety of products and services.

At Tremont Lumber, we are proud to offer a wide range of services to meet the needs of our customers. These services include:

• Delivery: If you purchase an item from us but don't have a way to get it home, we've got you covered. We offer delivery services to ensure that your items are delivered safely to your doorstep.
• Propane & Kerosene Tank Refill: Come in and let us refill your propane tanks. Whether you have a camper, RV, or a tank, we sell and fill 20, 30, 40, and 100lb tanks. We also supply Clear (#1) Kerosene.
• Chainsaw & Mower Blade Sharpening: Keep your chainsaw or mower working as efficiently as possible with our sharpening service.
• Home & Vehicle Key Cutting: Need a spare key for your home or car doors? We offer Automotive Chip Key Cutting to start your vehicles as well.
• Glass & Plexi Cutting: We are able to cut glass and plexiglass to any custom size needed for your projects.
• Screen Repair: Bring us your doors or windows that are in need of screen repair. We are able to repair or replace almost any size.

Firewood Services

In addition to our general services, we also offer specialized firewood services. With the increase in petroleum prices and the public's desire for a cleaner type of heating source, we have expanded our firewood offerings. Our firewood services include:

• Seasoned Firewood: We offer seasoned firewood, which is wood that has been allowed to dry for at least six months after being cut. This results in wood that is easier to burn and produces less smoke.
• Kiln Dried Firewood: Our kiln-dried firewood is dried in a controlled environment for over 20 hours at temperatures over 170 degrees. This process not only makes the wood easier to burn but also kills any possible insects that reside in the wood. Our kiln-dried firewood meets the USDA's strict guidelines for insect-free firewood.
• Wood Pellets: We offer wood pellets, which are a renewable, biomass fuel made from compacted sawdust and other wood waste. Wood pellets are a popular choice for those who want a cleaner and more sustainable heating source.
• Enviro-Bricks: Our enviro-bricks are made from 100% recycled materials and are a great alternative to traditional firewood. They are easy to handle, produce less smoke, and are a more sustainable heating source.
• Firewood Processing: We locally source log lengths of different varieties of oak and other hardwoods from local loggers. We then process them in our Built-Rite Wood processor, which saws and splits the logs to a standard length. The split pieces are dropped from the conveyor into baskets.
• Firewood Wrapping: Our firewood wrapper machine packages up the wood in a convenient and easy-to-transport format.
