Wavering's Ben Franklin is a business that has been providing quality crafts, home decor, and gift items to the Macon and Monroe City, MO communities for over 50 years. Founded in 1959 by Paul and Marge Wavering, the business has been passed down to their son, Jeff Wavering, who shares the same passion for customer service and quality products that his parents did.

Jeff Wavering, the current owner, has been involved in the business since its inception. He started working for the family business in high school and learned the ins and outs of customer service. After college, he worked as an electrical engineer for Emerson Electric, but his heart always belonged to the variety store business. In 1970, he opened the Ben Franklin in Macon, and in 1974, he opened the Ben Franklin in Monroe City.

Over the years, Wavering's Ben Franklin has evolved from a five and dime store whose merchandise was controlled by corporate Ben Franklin, to an independent business with a team of unique gift buyers. The team takes pride in finding new, and unique pieces for the stores. Jeff's favorite part of the buying process is selecting the beautiful flowers and antique pieces. You will find an abundance of beautiful home decor for every style and gifts for every occasion.

Though many things have changed throughout the years, some things have remained the same.
