Twice As Strong Hockey: Our Story

Twice As Strong Hockey is a testament to resilience, unity, and the power of sports in overcoming adversity. The team was formed in 2013, in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings, as a tribute to two brothers from a nearby town who each lost a leg in the tragic event. Their incredible journey of determination and strength inspired the team's name, Twice As Strong or simply the Strong, and served as a beacon of hope for the community.

U18 Free Skate Stoneham Arena - March 23, 2024

Every March, Twice As Strong Hockey invites skaters to Stoneham Arena to learn about the Twice As Strong Hockey Player Development Program. This annual event is an opportunity for players and parents to skate with us, meet our staff, and ask questions about our TAS 10-week Off-Season Hockey Camp. Our commitment is to provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment for all campers, and registration can be done through our website.

Twice As Strong Hockey Player Development Camp - 2024

We are proud to announce our 2024 Off-Season Hockey Player Development Camp. This camp offers weekly on and off-ice training sessions and games, allowing players to improve and develop their skills. All players will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in weekly coached league games. The Twice As Strong Hockey Player Development Camp is an environment where players of all levels from various teams and communities can train, compete, and develop skills together.

Our Coaches

At Twice As Strong Hockey, we make no apologies for setting high standards. Our coaching staff is dedicated to providing the best possible experience for our players. We are proud of our coaches' records and their commitment to the development of our players. Our Head Coach for the U18 team has a record of 0-0-0 for the 2024 season, and we are proud to celebrate our 10th Anniversary in 2023.

Health and Safety Protocols

The safety of our players and staff is of the utmost importance to us. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we canceled all tryouts in March 2020 and implemented strict health and safety protocols. On Monday, June 22, 2020, we returned to the ice with our "Return to the Ice Skills Clinic, " with the objective of returning players safely back to the ice.

Our History - 2014 to 2023

Since our inception, Twice As Strong Hockey has been committed to excellence. We have had several VHL Champions, including in 2014, 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2022. Our coaches and players have consistently demonstrated their skills and dedication to the game. In 2014, Jonah Hadley and Bryan Jackson were named Playoff MVPS, a testament to their exceptional performance.
