At West America After Care, we're dedicated to providing a comprehensive and affordable after-school experience for families in the Mill Valley community. Our program was born out of a conversation between two lifelong educators who saw a need for a more holistic approach to after-care. Our founders, Sensei Carlon and Lara Zegart, created a program that combines quality care and education, providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn, grow, and thrive.
Our Program
Our program offers a unique blend of support and structure, ensuring that children are safe, happy, and able to complete their homework. Our team of dedicated educators and tutors provide individualized attention to each student, helping them to understand and complete their assignments. We also offer a range of fun activities, sports, and arts & crafts, as well as access to our Tae Kwon Do studio, where students can learn the skills of martial arts, including patience, perseverance, respect, and leadership.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is centered around providing a comprehensive approach to after-school care. We believe that a balanced program should include academics, outdoor activities, sports, enrichment activities, and aspects of martial arts teachings to help children grow and develop into well-rounded individuals. We strive to maintain a low student-to-tutor ratio, allowing us to provide individualized attention to each student and get to know them personally. Our program is built on positivity, caring, humor, camaraderie, and happiness, creating a sense of community and belonging among our students.
Our Team
Our team is led by Sensei Roger Carlon, founder of West America Tae Kwon Do and West America After Care. With over 35 years of teaching experience, Sensei Carlon brings a sense of discipline, positive attitude, and fun interaction to our program. Our team of educators, tutors, and martial arts instructors are dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for our students.
