Red Oak Classic Guitar School

Welcome! My name is John Rimmer, and I am the owner and sole teacher of the Red Oak Classic Guitar School. I am a self-taught guitarist who has taught classic, acoustic, and electric guitar for over 13 years. With my background as a middle school mathematics teacher and previously working as a process engineer for over 20 years, I bring a unique blend of analytical skills, teaching qualities, and patience to my instruction. I have taught students of all ages and backgrounds in classic, acoustic, and electric guitar. Services Offered

The Red Oak Classic Guitar School provides guitar lessons in your home in Red Oak and surrounding areas, including Waxahachie, Glenn Heights, Ovilla, De Soto, and Lancaster. We also offer online lessons since the advent of COVID. Our tuition is $40.00 per hour lesson in Red Oak and surrounding locations. For locations south of Waxahachie or north of DeSoto/Lancaster, rates are calculated based on distance. Online Lessons are $30 for an hour lesson. Tuition is paid at each lesson or in advance, and we offer discounts for purchasing multiple lessons at once. We believe in flexibility, so lessons can be rescheduled if possible, but please note that lessons that are not given are not paid for. Students who miss an inordinate amount of lessons may lose their day and time place.

Inspirations

We are inspired by great contemporary classical guitar players in the DFW area, including Enric Madriguera, Christopher McGuire, and Robert Guthrie, all former students of the great Maestro Andres Segovia. We also draw inspiration from international guitarists like Xuifei Yang and Ana Vidovic, who have made significant contributions to the world of classical guitar. Their dedication and passion for music are a constant source of motivation for our students.
