Educating Children, One Step at a Time
Small World of Learning was established as a small daycare provider in 1983 by Sharon Osborne. Over the past 40 years, we have grown into a reputable and premier child care facility in Abilene, providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. In 2000, we moved into our current location, a 12,000 square foot facility with 12 classrooms and 3 playgrounds, allowing us to serve even more families in the community.
In 2021, Small World of Learning was acquired by the original founder's daughter, Tami Criswell, who is committed to carrying on the legacy of providing high-quality child care services. Our team is led by Director Dianna Bennett, Assistant Director Sonya Ewald, and Assistant Director Crystal Douglas, who bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the education and care of young children.
Our Approach: Child-centered Education of Superior Quality
At Small World of Learning, we believe in fostering intellectual, creative, social, and physical development in a loving and inclusive environment. Our objective is to educate the child while encouraging active participation in a community that promotes ethical leadership, self-reliance, and critical thinking. We offer challenging extracurricular activities that allow children to explore their interests and talents.
Our experienced and trained teachers build strong relationships with children and their families, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. We recognize the importance of play in children's learning and development, and we offer plenty of opportunities for hands-on exploration and social interaction.
