The Auction Experience
The author, James F., had a dismal experience at the Rogers weekly auction on Friday, giving it a rating of 1 star. James has attended hundreds of auctions and claims that auctioneers typically try to get the highest price. However, this experience was unlike any other. James brought new, scratch-and-dent items to the auction, only to be disappointed by the service.
Poor Treatment of Buyers
According to James, the auctioneer failed to treat the buyers with respect. He alleged that new items were removed from their boxes, which would significantly decrease their value. In one instance, a brand-new air conditioning unit was taken out of its box without being reset, further devaluing the item.
Disappointing Experience
The author expressed frustration with the auction, stating that it was the worst he had ever experienced. James attributes the poor experience to the auctioneer's lack of effort rather than the buyers. He emphasized that in his extensive experience, some days are indeed off, but this experience was exceptional.
