Close Cut Landscaping is a well-established and reputable business based in Solon, Ohio, proudly serving the Chagrin Valley area since its inception in 2002. This area includes, but is not limited to Orange Village, Solon, Chagrin Falls, Pepper Pike, Hunting Valley, Moreland Hills, Twinsburg, Aurora, and Bentleyville.

Our story began with Ernie Visnicky, who grew up in Orange Village, Ohio. Ernie's passion for nature and being outdoors was evident from a young age. He started his journey in the landscaping industry in the late 1990s, working as a landscape laborer at Geauga Lake Amusement Park. Over his two years of employment at Geauga Lake, Ernie demonstrated his natural hard work and determination, which led him to become the Senior Section Manager, overseeing the landscape and park services departments.

Ernie continued to excel in time management, customer satisfaction, attention to detail, and the overall satisfaction of property appearance while working for a few local landscape companies from 1999 through 2006. His experience and success in these roles led him to believe that he was prepared to start his own landscape business.

In 2002, while still working full-time for an established landscape company, Ernie decided to form Close Cut Landscaping as a part-time business. Over the next few years, Close Cut Landscaping experienced steady growth, eventually becoming a full-time operation.

Services

Close Cut Landscaping offers a wide range of services to meet the needs of our clients. These services include:

• Spring Cleanups: In spring, we remove unsightly leaves, branches, and other debris from lawn areas and planting beds. Ornamental trees and shrubs within planting beds and lawn areas are checked and cleared of any broken branches. Mulch beds and tree rings are weeded and given a deep, well-manicured trench edge, if scheduled for mulch installation. Hedges, shrubs, and trees are pruned as needed for a natural, visually appealing shape. The overall landscape is checked and groomed for optimal appearance. If we were contracted for snowplowing, any snowplow damage is repaired at no extra charge; otherwise, it is billed as an additional charge.

• Weekly Lawn Maintenance: Our specially trained crew provides weekly lawn cutting (as weather permits) throughout the growing season. Prior to mowing, the grounds are policed for trash, tree limbs, or obstructions. Turf areas are cut at the proper mowing height in opposite directions on alternating visits to ensure even grass growth while presenting a visually attractive appearance. We do not bag grass clippings unless requested. Turfgrass research shows that by using proper mowers, it is better to return clippings to the turf for nutritional replenishment. Our cutting service includes weed trimming of areas that cannot be reached with the lawn mowers and edging of concrete borders along walkways, sidewalks, and driveways.

• Bed Edging: Our skilled team will create clean, crisp edges for your planting beds, giving your landscape a polished look.

• Bed & Shrub Maintenance: We provide regular maintenance for your planting beds and shrubs, including weeding, pruning, and fertilization.

• Mulch: Our team will help you choose the right type of mulch for your garden beds and apply it correctly.

• Weed Control: We offer effective solutions to keep your garden beds and lawns free of unwanted weeds.

• Lawn Fertilization: Our team will help you create a fertilizer plan tailored to your lawn's specific needs.

• Fall Cleanups: In fall, we remove unsightly leaves, branches, and other debris from lawn areas and planting beds. Ornamental trees and shrubs within planting beds and lawn areas are checked and cleared of any broken branches. The overall landscape is checked and groomed for optimal appearance.

• Storm Cleanups: After a storm, we will clear your property of fallen branches and debris.

• Snowplowing: Our team is equipped to handle snow removal for your property during the winter months.
