Our History

Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 33 has been an integral part of the plumbing and mechanical construction and service industry in central and western Iowa for over 130 years. Our journey began with a group of committed tradespeople who envisioned a stronger, more united voice for their profession. Through the years, we have evolved into a thriving organization, proudly representing 1,650 skilled plumbers, steamfitters, welders, and HVAC/refrigeration technicians.
