Our Vision and Mission

Camp Akiva exists to offer every child in Texas, who has endured abuse and neglect, the hope of Jesus Christ in a safe and loving environment. Our mission is to provide a refuge offering hope to children of abuse and neglect and to provide Christ-centered hospitality to all age groups in a setting separate from the pressures of the world.

Who We Serve

We partner with churches and organizations to provide Christ-centered hospitality aiming to impact lives at camp. We primarily serve:

• Children ages 6-18 who have experienced abuse and neglect
• Youth groups
• Families and individuals seeking a Christian retreat experience

Our History

Camp Akiva began as a dream of Our Father's Children (OFC), an organization that provides support and care for children in foster care. After years of searching for the perfect location, God led us to Christian Camp of the Living Word, which was renamed Camp Akiva in 2012. Today, Camp Akiva stands as a beacon of hope and restoration for children who have experienced abuse and neglect.
