Ray's journey in the world of performance began at a young age, working alongside his father at his gas station and convenience store. His fascination with engines and racing led him to build and race his own cars. This passion eventually evolved into founding Auto Marine Engines in 1980 with his partner Larry Teter, where they built engines for street rods, muscle cars, and offshore boats.
