Olympia Tile has a rich history that spans over 90 years. It all began in 1927 when Mr. John Capra established the first ceramic tile wholesale distribution operation in Canada under the name "Montreal Floor and Wall Tile." This company later merged with Olympia Tile in the late 1950s, which was established in 1956. This merger marked the beginning of an organization that would expand to become an international leader in the ceramic tile industry. Over the years, Olympia Tile acquired several distribution companies in the United States and expanded its importation business, becoming the exclusive distributors for over 75 foreign manufacturers across 5 continents.

Today, Olympia has more than 50 distribution, showroom, and manufacturing facilities, occupying over 4.2 million square feet of warehousing. With a workforce of over 900 employees, the organization is well-equipped to cater to the needs of the architectural, design profession, the tile trade, and the building industry. Olympia's long history and experience have allowed it to develop excellent relationships with premier ceramic tile manufacturers worldwide, ensuring that high-quality products are efficiently priced.

As a front-runner in the industry, Olympia has great influence over styling and demand, particularly within North America and worldwide. The company's commitment to the industry continues with its participation in the LEED program. Olympia has received several prestigious awards, including the "North American Distributor Award - 2003" from the Italian tile Manufacturers' association, Assopiastrelle, and the "Best Distributor Award" from the Greater Toronto Home Builders' Association in 2006, 2009, and 2013.
