Our Story

Music Academy of Kansas City was founded by Maya Tuylieva, a classically-trained pianist with a Doctoral Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Kansas. With a passion for sharing her love of music with others, Maya established the academy in 2015 in the Crossroads District of downtown Kansas City. Since then, we've grown to accommodate a thriving community of students and faculty members from diverse backgrounds, united by our shared language of music.

Our Programs

From private and group lessons in piano, violin, guitar, brass, clarinet, saxophone, and American Sign Language, to our Master Musician Program and Crossroads Music Auditions, we're committed to providing a comprehensive music education that inspires creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
