Clearfield Family Eyecare, located in downtown Clearfield, is a comprehensive optometry practice that has been serving the Clearfield community since 1996. Our reputation for skilled and caring service has been built on a foundation of exceptional patient care and a commitment to meeting the eye and vision needs of patients of all ages.

Hours and Services

At Clearfield Family Eyecare, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of eye care to our patients. Our office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We are open for appointments and also offer curbside pickup for glasses and contact lenses.

To keep our community safe, we have implemented measures in accordance with Pennsylvania state and CDC guidelines. We limit the number of people allowed into the office at any given time and require all individuals entering the office to wear a face mask.

Our services include comprehensive eye examinations, which aim to resolve any eye or vision problems you may be experiencing. We also offer a beautiful optical boutique with over 600 frames to choose from, and we accept outside prescriptions. Our specialties include all types of contact lenses, including those for astigmatism and bifocals. We also treat eye emergencies and manage and monitor a variety of eye diseases, such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease.

Dr. Edward M. Lopez, the founder of Clearfield Family Eyecare, grew up in State College, PA, and received his bachelor's degree in biology/pre-med from Susquehanna University in 1989. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1993. After practicing in State College for two years, Dr. Lopez joined the Clearfield practice of Dr. Gerald Kempner in 1995 and took over the practice in 1996.

Dr. Lopez is a member and past president of the Mid Counties Optometric Association and a member of the American Optometric Association. He was a past president and longtime member of the Clearfield Area Jaycees. In his spare time, Dr. Lopez enjoys bass fishing, reading, and spending time outdoors. He lives in Port Matilda with his wife Michele, daughters Jen and Rachel, and his golden retriever Rigby.

Our Skilled and Caring Staff

At Clearfield Family Eyecare, we believe that our employees are the backbone of our business. We are proud of our skilled and caring staff, who are dedicated to providing the best possible care to our patients.

Donella Dixon, a certified optometric technician, has been an integral part of our office since 2001. She is our office manager, responsible for taking medical histories, performing pre-testing before the doctor sees you, and instructing new contact lens patients on how to insert and remove their lenses.

Lari Good is our talented optician. She is responsible for helping you select the perfect glasses, ordering and fabricating them, and dispensing them to you.

Emily Francisco, our receptionist, always greets patients with a smile. She checks them in, answers phone calls and inquiries, makes appointments, and performs many other important tasks.
