Naturopathic Medicine: Education and Training
Naturopathic doctors subscribe to a unique philosophy that believes the body has an innate ability to heal itself. At Equinox Naturopathic Medicine, our naturopathic doctor, Dr. Tom Matteucci, earned his Naturopathic Doctorate from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, Oregon. NUNM is one of only four nationally accredited four-year schools of naturopathic medicine in the United States. Our doctor received extensive training in the areas of clinical nutrition, classical homeopathy, botanical medicine, and lifestyle counseling, as well as conventional medical treatments.
Philosophy
Our philosophy is to treat the whole person, not just address symptoms. We believe that true health is achieved by treating the root cause of the problem, and not just covering up symptoms. Our treatment plans include a combination of natural medicines and specific lifestyle changes designed to bring balance to every system in the body. We work with many different health issues and are particularly interested in treating those with chronic and degenerative diseases, including those with digestive problems, auto-immune disease, thyroid and other endocrine imbalances, and chronic fatigue.
