THA Architects Engineers is a full-service architectural and engineering firm based in Flint, Michigan, providing a wide range of quality design services tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. We specialize in architecture, planning, interior design, mechanical engineering, and construction administration services within the educational, municipal, religious, and commercial sectors.

Since our inception in 1957, we have produced over 50 award-winning designs and have provided services on more than 12,000 projects for over 5,000 clients. THA Architects Engineers is an employee-owned Michigan corporation run by its Board of Directors, who are elected annually by the firm's stockholders.

Our History

THA Architects Engineers first began operation in 1957 when James "Jim" Tomblinson returned to Flint, Michigan, after graduating from the University of California-Berkeley. Tomblinson began a practice with fellow architect Cliff Gibbs, and their innovative quality of work attracted Gerald "Gerry" Harburn to join the firm in 1961. Through commitment to providing quality service and design excellence, Tomblinson Harburn Associates received multiple design awards and developed a solid, loyal client base.

In 1968, the firm was incorporated, and it has consistently promoted a built environment of the highest quality. THA Architects Engineers expanded its architectural services to include mechanical and electrical engineering in 1985 and changed its name to reflect the gradual transfer of ownership to associates dedicated to the same principles upon which the company was originally founded.
