The Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services is a local planning and funding authority responsible for distributing funds and administering public mental health, alcohol, and drug addiction services in Geauga County. As the duly constituted local planning and funding authority, our primary responsibility is to develop, promote, and monitor services, facilities, and programs that are responsive to the behavioral health care needs of the citizens of Geauga County.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide community leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based mental health and recovery services that are responsive to consumer-centered planning. We believe that the most effective services are recipient-driven and recovery-oriented, placing the person above the organization. We also believe that community needs change, and therefore, establishing service and funding priorities is an ongoing process. We advocate for the community we serve and demand accountability.

Our Services

We provide a wide range of services to the residents of Geauga County, including:

  • Mental Health Services: We provide mental health services to individuals of all ages, including counseling, therapy, and support groups.
  • Substance Abuse Services: We offer substance abuse treatment services, including counseling, education, and support groups.
  • Recovery Services: We provide recovery services, including recovery support groups and peer-to-peer recovery coaching.
  • Prevention Services: We offer prevention services, including education, awareness, and outreach programs.

Board Members

Our Board of Directors is comprised of volunteer citizens who are committed to serving the mental health and addiction needs of Geauga County. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who are responsible for making strategic decisions and overseeing the operations of our organization.
