Alexandria SCHLS Employees Credit Union

The Alexandria Schools Employees Credit Union (ASECU) was founded in 1954 with 7 members. Today, we are proud to serve over 1,000 members, providing a range of financial services to our members. As a state-chartered credit union, we are insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and audited by the Minnesota Department of Commerce.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide our members with exceptional financial services, exceptional customer service, and a commitment to our community. We strive to create a positive and supportive environment for our members, and to foster a sense of belonging and camaraderie among our members.

Our Services

We offer a range of financial services to our members, including:

• Collateral and signature loans
• Home equity loans
• Share (savings) accounts
• Automatic payroll deductions
• Mailboxes at both Alexandria Technical & Community College and Voyager School for ease in sending information to the treasurer.

Membership

Membership in ASECU is open to anyone employed by one of the following schools:

• Alexandria Technical & Community College
• Alexandria School District 206
• Runestone Area Education District
• St. Mary's Catholic School
• Alexandria Christian Community School
• Zion Lutheran School

To join ASECU, simply fill out a membership application form and deposit a minimum balance of $5.00 in your share (savings) account.

Loan Process

Our loan process is streamlined and efficient, with loan approvals often available in the same day. Once your loan is approved, you can make payments through payroll deduction (available to District 206 employees), bill pay from your bank, inter-school mail, or regular mail.

Account Maintenance

To maintain your account, you can deposit money through automatic payroll deductions, inter-school mail, or regular mail. You can also withdraw funds from your share (savings) account by contacting the treasurer.

Interest Rates

Our interest rates are reviewed monthly by our board of directors. You can find our current rates on our website or by contacting the treasurer.

Fees

We reserve the right to assess a dormant account fee of $20.00 on inactive accounts that have been dormant for more than three years. If the account balance falls below the minimum required to maintain membership in the credit union ($5.00), we may elect to close the account upon written notice to the member.
