Welcome to Gilla Brewing Company, the first craft brewery in Ascension Parish. Our story began with a shared dream between our founders, Brad Andersen and Alex Shillings, who are passionate homebrewers and craft beer enthusiasts. Our mission is to provide high-quality, unique beers that cater to a wide range of tastes and preferences.

Our menu features a variety of fruited sours, New England IPAs, pastry stouts, and traditional ales and lagers. As a micro-brewery, we specialize in small batch sizes, allowing us to constantly experiment with new flavors and recipes. This means there's always something new and exciting on tap when you visit our taproom.

The Owners

Meet the minds behind Gilla Brewing Company. Brad Andersen and Alex Shillings, our co-founders, have been brewing for over 15 years and have a deep passion for the craft. Brad, the brewmaster and brewhouse manager, creates the recipes for our beers, while Alex handles the finances and does a little bit of everything else as needed. Together, they have brought their dream to life and continue to grow and contribute positively to the local community.

"Gilla" is a nod to Alex's dad, whose family is very involved in the brewery. The name represents the family-oriented atmosphere and values that we strive to maintain at Gilla Brewing Company.
