Serving the Financial Needs of Our Members Since 1939
The Northampton Area School District Employees Federal Credit Union was established in 1939 with the primary goal of providing financial assistance to public school employees. Our credit union is a group of individuals who have come together to save their money and make loans to one another at low interest rates. We are united by a common bond, which is our employment in the Northampton Area School District or ARA Northampton.
Our mission is to provide our members with access to affordable loans, high-yield savings accounts, and other financial services that cater to their unique needs. We aim to promote financial stability and security among our members, enabling them to achieve their personal and financial goals.
Membership and Account Opening
To join our credit union, you must be employed by the Northampton Area School District or ARA Northampton, or be a member of the immediate family of such an employee. To open an account, you will need to secure a membership card from our office or a representative in your building, complete the membership card, and submit it with a minimum deposit of $5.00. This deposit will serve as your initial share and will be the required minimum balance to keep your account open.
In compliance with the USA Patriot Act of 2001, we require all new members to provide identification verification documents, which we will keep on file. You can make deposits directly by sending them to the credit union or through payroll deduction. Please contact us for a payroll deduction form.
Loan Services
We offer a variety of loan services designed to meet the financial needs of our members. To request a loan, you will need to obtain and complete a loan application. Our staff is available to assist and advise you in completing the application. Once completed, the loan application must be approved by our Credit Committee. Loan applications are available in the buildings from the building Credit Union representative.
Our loan rates are set by the Board of Directors and are adjusted to ensure they are fair to both the borrowers and the credit union. We strive to make our loan rates competitive while also allowing us to pay an equitable dividend to our members.
