Sunnyside Preschool

Sunnyside Preschool is an Award-Winning private school that has been providing high-quality early childhood education for children in Lake Stevens, WA since 1990. Our school has an outstanding reputation and attracts a diverse client base from all over Snohomish County. We are committed to providing a fun, safe, and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow in all areas of development.

At Sunnyside Preschool, we offer a rich curriculum that meets the standards of The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our curriculum promotes positive self-esteem, builds confidence, and encourages cooperative, caring social interactions based on mutual respect between their peers, teachers, and the community.

Our Programs

We offer a variety of programs tailored to meet the needs of children at different stages of development. These programs include:

• Preschool (3-4 years)
• Pre-K (4-5 years)
• Jumpstart Kindergarten (age 5 by Dec. 31)
• Summer Camp

Each of our programs is designed to meet children at their own individual level, while challenging and encouraging them to be successful at the next level. We believe in active learning and use a play-based curriculum that promotes all areas of development.

Our Approach

At Sunnyside Preschool, we are committed to providing a child-centered room environment that supports all areas of development and meets the needs of each individual child. We believe in the theory of multiple intelligences and apply it to our teaching methods to ensure that every child is engaged and learning.

We are passionate about teaching and encourage all children to play, interact, and investigate through a variety of developmentally appropriate activities. Our hands-on activities strengthen language, math, and science skills, and enhance creativity and self-expression through art, music, and dance. We also provide experiences that promote creative thinking, problem-solving, and better prepare children for kindergarten entrance.

We believe that social and emotional growth is just as important as academic growth. That's why we work to build self-esteem, responsibility, and independence, and help children achieve self-control and interact positively with others. We also nurture emergent literacy by providing an environment and activities that foster language development and encourage interest in reading and writing.
