Safe, Ethical, and Sustainable Recycling
At Transformer Technologies, we pride ourselves on providing safe, ethical, and sustainable recycling solutions for the electrical industry. Our mission is to provide exceptional service, innovation, and expertise in transforming assets into valuable resources, while ensuring the highest level of safety and environmental responsibility.
Our Services
We offer a comprehensive range of services, including transformer dismantling, oil processing, and recycling, as well as facility management and logistics. Our extensive experience and expertise in transformer recovery enable us to provide efficient and environmentally responsible solutions for various clients, including public utility districts, investor-owned utilities, government facilities, and industrial facilities.
Transformer Dismantling
Our transformer dismantling service involves the careful disassembly of electrical equipment to recover valuable components and materials. We use proprietary dismantling techniques to minimize fire risk and reduce employee exposure to lead and asbestos. Our trained operators then dismantle the units, eliminating the liability of re-use and ensuring that nearly all components are prepared for recycling.
Oil Processing and Recycling
As part of our comprehensive services, we operate multiple vacuum trucks to remove and transport used dielectric fluid. Our facility in Salem, Oregon, is equipped with dechlorination equipment capable of processing oils up to 49 PPM of PCB. We then process the oil until the PCB level is verified to be below 1 PPM, and sell it to a variety of end users.
Substation Equipment Recovery
We specialize in the recovery of substation equipment, including transformers, reclosers, capacitors, PT's, and CT's. Our experienced field crews dismantle and remove larger units, while smaller units are transported to our Salem facility for complete disassembly.
Transportation
With multiple truck and trailer configurations, we efficiently move electrical equipment and oil across North America. Our drivers are Hazardous Material endorsed for high-PCB items, ensuring a safe and responsible transport of sensitive materials.
Disposal of High-PCB Equipment
We hold a PCB Commercial Storage Permit issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), allowing us to consolidate shipments of high-PCB equipment and oil to our affiliate, TCI of Alabama, which is EPA licensed to process any level of PCB contamination.
Unit Failure Dismantling and Inspection
Our field support services provide systematic, fully documented dismantling of failed units. We can dismantle smaller units indoors at our Salem facility or on-site, ensuring precise documentation and minimizing waste.
