Marcia K. Lippincott: A Native Floridian with a Passion for Advocacy
Ms. Lippincott, also known as Marcy, is a proud native of Florida, born and raised in Sanford. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University and was a member of the Varsity Debate Team and the National Speech Honorary, Delta Sigma Rho-Tau Kappa Alpha. She was among the first women to earn a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School, where she was honored for her appellate advocacy skills as a member of the National Moot Court Team.
During law school, Ms. Lippincott worked as a Legal Assistant for the National Center for Law and the Handicapped, gaining hands-on experience in groundbreaking litigation involving the rights of people with disabilities. Subsequently, the Legal Advocacy Project for the Developmentally Disabled in Minneapolis, Minnesota, selected her as a staff attorney. During her time at the project, she published articles on zoning restrictions for community homes for the mentally challenged and Medicaid medical assistance for the indigent.
