James J. Angel: Attorney at Law is a respected legal practice with over 40 years of experience serving the Greater Lynchburg area. Our founder, James J. Angel, is a trial attorney with a rich background in criminal law, traffic violations, DWI/DUI cases, gun rights restoration, and litigation. He has been admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Virginia, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Supreme Court of Virginia.

With a Bachelor of Arts Degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College, Mr. Angel graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a Fellow of the Academic Honor Society of Sigma Eta Sigma. He later earned his law degree from T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 1979. After completing his studies, Mr. Angel began his career as a Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Lynchburg, serving in this capacity from 1979 to 1984.

Throughout his career, Mr. Angel has been recognized for his exceptional legal skills and community service. He is a past recipient of several prestigious awards, including Strathmore's Who's Who, National Registry Who's Who, and Marquis Who's Who American Lawyers. Additionally, he has held leadership positions in various professional organizations, such as the Lynchburg Bar Association, where he served as the past president of the Criminal Law section.
