American Ballet Academy

American Ballet Academy is a dance studio dedicated to spreading the love of dance through education, quality instruction, and community involvement. Our studio offers a nurturing environment where students can develop their skills and confidence as dancers and individuals. Founded in 1991 by Rick Van Winkle in Salem, Oregon, we have a rich history of providing ballet training to students of all ages and skill levels.

Curriculum and Programs

Our ballet program is designed for both serious and recreational dancers, focusing on classical ballet techniques. We also offer classes for young dancers starting at age 3, teaching coordination, musicality, classroom etiquette, and poise and posture in a fun and structured environment. Additionally, we have programs for boys, adults, and those interested in modern and contemporary dance.

Facilities and Community Involvement

Our studio is located at 1795 Broadway St NE, Salem, OR 97301, with a mailing address at PO Box 2671, Salem, OR 97308. We have a strong commitment to community involvement, regularly hosting summer performances, including a Children's Nutcracker, and participating in IDA Awards and Spring Shows. Our facilities are also available for rental.

Registration and Login

Registration for classes is now possible online. You can select classes individually for your child, following the class schedule available on our website. Once registered, you can create an ABA Profile to view class schedules, change contact information, and make payments.
