Bringing the best possible entertainment to Ouray County since 1983!
Ouray County Performing Arts Guild (OCPAG) is a well-respected non-profit organization that was first established in Ouray in 1983. Since then, our mission has been to bring the best possible entertainment to the county's citizens, visitors, and youth. We strive to provide a diverse range of events, including classical music, jazz, folk, theater, bluegrass, Celtic, instrumental and vocal performances, as well as dance and poetry presentations.
Our Mission
Our ongoing mission is to connect local youth with the performing arts. We have given over $48,000 in scholarships over the past seven years to deserving students pursuing advanced training in music and theater, and we sponsor a variety of master classes, in-school performances featuring visiting artists, and children's programs. The flagship event is the annual San Juan Chamber MusicFest presented each August under the artistic direction of Max Levinson.
Our Programs
We are proud to present a variety of signature programs, including the San Juan Chamber MusicFest, San Juan Choral Festival, Dave and Mary Wood Classical Concerts, and Ouray County Chorus. These programs showcase talented artists from around the world and provide a unique cultural experience for our community.
Our Impact
We are committed to making a positive impact in Ouray County by providing access to the performing arts for people of all ages. Our events bring people together, foster a sense of community, and provide a platform for local artists to showcase their talents. We are dedicated to continuing our mission and providing high-quality entertainment for years to come.
What Our Community Says
"As a board member and supporter of OCPAG for over two decades, I can attest that this organization gets better and better. The caliber of events is superb. Much of it is national or world-class. Indeed, our whole community can be proud and appreciative that a small, local volunteer non-profit is able to achieve what it has. The sheer variety and appeal of our ever-changing list of events is commendable and we do this while keeping ticket prices to a minimum. This, in large part, is due to our local support and generous sponsors. We are also fortunate that our venues are exceptional." - Kelvin Kent Ridgway
"I sing with Heartbeat, an eight-woman a cappella group. Our group has sung together for 27 years. Heartbeat has performed three concerts for OCPAG over the past 16 years. The experience was great! The arts guild is well-organized and that makes it easy and fun for our group to sing for wonderful and appreciative audiences around Ouray County." - Ulli Sir Jesse Ridgway
