Disappointing Experience with Floor Installation
The reviews highlight a series of issues with the floor installation service provided by CF&I. The first major problem arose when the installer laid the floor on the wrong underlayment, rendering the warranty void. Furthermore, the installation of the drains was subpar, with no sealing done around the drains, allowing water to seep into the underlayment. Additionally, the cutouts for the drains looked unprofessional and crude. To make matters worse, the contract specified the installation of rubber base, which was never done, and the floor was not properly sealed to the wall. This lack of attention to detail and poor workmanship led to a disappointing experience for the author.
Lack of Professionalism and Attention to Detail
The installation team seemed to lack basic skills and attention to detail. The underlayment was misplaced, and the work around the drains was sloppy. The cutouts for the drains looked like they were done by a novice. The rubber base, which was supposed to be part of the contract, was neither installed nor communicated to the installer. The floor was not properly sealed to the wall, leading to a host of problems.
No Communication and Poor Project Management
The author was disappointed with the lack of communication throughout the project. The contract specified certain materials and techniques, but these were not followed. The installer seemed to work independently, without much guidance or oversight. As a result, the project was plagued by errors, and the author was left to deal with the consequences.
