Our Origin

Paton's journey began in 1984 when Paton Controls was established as an I/E specialty engineering company, primarily serving petrochemical customers in the Sarnia, Ontario area. Over the years, we have consistently expanded our offerings and customer base. In 1990, we entered the food and beverage industry, specializing in controls and automation. By 1992, we had further broadened our customer base to include refining and pipelines segments.

In 1996, Paton established multi-discipline engineering capabilities and expanded to the Gulf Coast. This strategic move allowed us to better serve a wider range of clients and industries. In 2008, we expanded our presence on the Gulf Coast with two offices in Texas (Houston and Port Arthur). That same year, we launched a Construction division, marking our entry into the delivery of E&C services.

In 2011, Paton further expanded its services to include Onshore Upstream Oil and Gas. In 2014, we changed our name to Paton Engineers and Constructors to better reflect our comprehensive service offerings. That year also marked our beginning of work in Strathcona, Alberta.
