At Winehaven Winery, we're more than just a winery - we're a family-owned and operated estate winery dedicated to producing high-quality wines that showcase the unique flavors of our vineyards and region. Founded in 1995 as Chisago County's first estate winery, we've become a cornerstone of Minnesota winemaking, with a commitment to sustainable farming and a passion for sharing our love of wine with our community.

Our Story

Our story begins with the Peterson family, who represent four generations of stewardship to the land. Our five distinct vineyards in the Chisago Lakes Area provide the perfect setting for us to craft our unique array of wines, including some from grape varieties that are not grown elsewhere in the world. We're proud to offer a complete collection of honey, fruit, and grape wines of uncompromising quality, made with time-honored techniques and state-of-the-art equipment.

Our Vineyards

Our 50-acre estate is situated between three lakes - Lake Ellen, Green Lake, and Lake Martha - providing natural protection for our delicate grapevine varieties. The lakes and gentle southerly-sloping hillsides allow our fruit to ripen later in the season, and our vines are protected from north winds during winter storms. We're committed to sustainable farming practices, ensuring that our vineyards remain healthy and thriving for generations to come.

Our Wines

We offer a wide range of wines, from dry and full-bodied to sweet and sparkling. Our unique grape varieties, developed right here at Winehaven, have been recognized by the U.S. Patent Office for their winter hardiness, vigor, disease resistance, and wine quality. Whether you're looking for a crisp and refreshing white, a rich and bold red, or something sweet and fruity, we have a wine to suit your taste.

Visit Us

We invite you to visit us at Winehaven Winery, where you can sample our unique selection of wines, enjoy the panoramic views of our lakes and hillside vineyards, and experience the warm hospitality of our family-owned winery. We're open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.
