Our History

Our story began in 1951 when Virgil Howell founded Howell Asphalt Company, laying the foundation for a successful construction legacy. Under Virgil's leadership, the company grew steadily, acquiring a reputation for quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. In 1969, Charles Adams, Virgil's son-in-law, joined the business, further solidifying the company's commitment to excellence and fostering its expansion. In 1977, Howell Paving, Inc. was founded, setting the stage for a new era of growth and diversification.

Charles Adams continued to lead the company forward, orchestrating strategic acquisitions that broadened Howell Paving's capabilities, including the purchase of General Contractors, Inc. in 1998 and Wabash Asphalt Company in 1998.

Today, the company is proud to be managed by Holly Adams, Virgil's granddaughter, marking the third generation of Adams family leadership. This enduring tradition ensures that Howell Paving remains steadfast in its commitment to quality, service, and innovation.
