Stoughton Music Center, located at 968 Washington Street / Route 138 in Stoughton, Massachusetts, has been proudly serving the local community since 1988. Founded by Stoughton local Robert Tarchara after graduating from Berklee College of Music, Stoughton Music Center has established itself as a trusted source for some of the best acoustic instruments available, as well as world-class instrumental instruction.

At Stoughton Music Center, we specialize in Classical Nylon String Guitars and Ukuleles/Cavaquinhos, and we also stock a wide selection of Violins, Violas in all sizes, Keyboards /Digital Pianos, Acoustic & Electric Guitars, Amplifiers/Pedals, Banjos / Mandolins from top-quality brands such as Jose Ramirez, Alhambra & Admira, Yamaha, Ibanez, Ovation, Kala, Lanikai, Cremona, Kentucky, Danelectro, Laney & Fishman. We are proud to offer an extensive selection of Musical Accessories including many brands of Strings, Picks, Reeds, Straps, Cases & Bags, and we stock all the Classic Music Instruction Method Books including all the owner Robert Tarchara's Guitar Publications.

In addition to our wide selection of instruments and accessories, we are proud to offer repairs on Fretted Instruments. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff are always available to help you find the perfect instrument, accessory, or repair service to meet your needs.

Private Lessons

Stoughton Music Center offers half-hour, 45-minute, or One Hour private lessons with our experienced staff in our lesson studios. Our teachers have many decades of combined teaching experience, and they are all college educated and able to craft lessons that cater to each individual student. Our spacious studios have windows, and we have a comfortable waiting room for parents and students. We also offer online ZOOM lessons in the privacy of your home taught from our teacher's studios.

We offer professional instruction in the following instruments: Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Violin, Viola, Cello, Woodwinds, Ukulele, and Recorder. We also offer 45-minute private Voice Lessons. Our experienced teachers are dedicated to helping students of all ages and skill levels achieve their musical goals.

Lesson Rates and Policies

At Stoughton Music Center, we are committed to providing high-quality musical instruction at an affordable price. Our lesson rates are as follows:

• 4- 1/2 Hour Lessons: $125
• 4- 45 Minute Lessons: $187.50
• 4- Hour Lessons: $250
• 4- 45 Minute Voice Lessons: $187.50 (In Studio or Online Zoom at your Home)
• 4- Hour Voice Lessons: $260

Advance payment is required for all lessons, and we accept cash, credit card/Apple Pay. We offer a family discount: full price for the first student, and 10% off each additional payment for immediate family members. We require 24-48 hour advance notice via phone or email for cancellations, and cancellations must go through the store, not the teacher. Lesson payments are non-refundable or transferable when a student is removed from our active schedule, and no outstanding makeups/credits are owed.
