Our Story

At Oleksak Lumber Company, we have been in business for over 100 years, since 1922. Founded by Andrew T. Oleksak Sr., our company has grown from a small operation with a portable sawmill and horse-drawn logging sled to a prominent lumber producer in Western Massachusetts. For four generations, we have remained family-owned and operated, committed to providing exceptional service and value to our customers.

Our Operations

Today, our operation consists of a fully automated sawmill, dry kiln, milling facility, pallet lumber cut-up operation, and bark mulch business. Our raw materials are sourced from our 3,000-plus-acre family-owned timberland and from private landowners. We purchase timber from municipalities, state forests, and watersheds throughout Hampden and Berkshire Counties.

Our Commitment

Our commitment to sustainability is evident in our forestry practices. Our forestry staff is responsible for managing our family-owned timberlands, which are enrolled in current use programs and subject to written forest management plans. We strive to incorporate all hardwoods and softwoods into our program, ensuring that our products meet or exceed the highest standards and requirements of local, state, and federal agencies.

Our Team

At Oleksak Lumber Company, we take pride in our experienced and knowledgeable team. Our forestry staff, led by Daniel Oleksak, holds a master's degree in Forestry from the University of Massachusetts and is a certified Forestry consultant and registered land surveyor in the state of Massachusetts. Andrew Oleksak, our co-owner and operations manager, has undergone extensive training and has a deep understanding of the lumber industry.

Our Products

We offer a wide range of products, including pallets and rough-sawn lumber, kiln-dried hardwoods, and dimensional lumber. Our products are used in various applications, such as flooring, shiplap, and v-groove pine. We also offer mulch, colored chips, and pallets for landscaping and playgrounds.

Giving Back

At Oleksak Lumber Company, we believe in giving back to our community. We sponsor an annual half-marathon road race to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Westfield, Massachusetts. We also participate in local conservation efforts and support sustainable forestry practices.
