Cherokee Nation Home Health Services is a tribally incorporated not-for-profit home health care agency, that is Medicare and Medicaid certified to provide state-licensed home health care. Our organization was established in 1981 by the Cherokee Nation with the goal of expanding the range of services offered to elderly and disabled persons who were Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries.

For several years, the home health division operated within the framework of various departments within the Cherokee Nation. However, due to the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 and the subsequent reform of Medicare reimbursement rates for home health care agencies, it became necessary for the tribe to move the home health division into a free-standing entrepreneurial environment. This change allowed us to continue our not-for-profit mission of providing compassionate, high-quality patient care.
