SSN Studios

SSN Studios was founded in 2015 by Tim Carlin, a seasoned audio engineer with over 30 years of industry experience. Tim began his career in 1983 after studying at the Institute of Audio Research in NYC and apprenticing at renowned studios across New York and New Jersey. Prior to establishing SSN Studios, he operated Solid Sound Rehearsal and Recording Studios in Whippany, NJ, from 1989 to 2002, where he engineered and produced albums for independent and label-backed bands. Our facility in Brewster, MA, combines cutting-edge digital technology with vintage analog equipment, including a Solid State Logic Axiom MT+ 48-channel digital console, Pro Tools Ultimate, and Otari MTR90II 2-inch tape machines. We specialize in recording, mixing, mastering, voice-over, and ADR services, serving clients ranging from independent artists to major corporations like Disney and FOX.

Our engineers bring decades of expertise to every project, ensuring industry-standard results. We offer flexible session scheduling, including late-night and weekend appointments, and provide online mastering and mixing services for global accessibility. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our state-of-the-art equipment, including hundreds of digital plugins and vintage outboard gear. We have supported the music industry through our independent label, Solid Sound Records, and continue to innovate with hybrid digital-analog workflows. Our clients benefit from personalized service, technical excellence, and a proven track record in audio production.
