Arctic Gymnastics Center has been providing gymnastics programs to the Anchorage community for over three decades. Our mission is to celebrate success on every level, recognizing that growth is the process of small successes. We believe that every athlete deserves to be proud of their achievements, whether it's their first cartwheel or a difficult gymnastics routine.
Our Services
At Arctic Gymnastics Center, we offer a wide range of programs to suit any age and skill level. Our recreational gymnastics program is designed for children and adults who want to learn basic gymnastics skills while staying active, building strength, and improving flexibility. We also offer a competitive gymnastics program for children who are interested in competing at the local, state, and national levels.
Recreational Program
Our recreational program is designed for children who want to learn basic gymnastics skills while keeping fit, building strength, and improving flexibility. We offer classes and programs for children of all ages and skill levels, including:
- Preschool Gymnastics for ages 0 to 6
- Recreational Gymnastics for ages 7 and up
- Coed Tumbling for ages 7 and up
Our recreational gymnasts use the same equipment as our competitive gymnasts, including the spring floor, balance beam, uneven bars, vault, pit, trampoline, and various types of mats. We offer Parent Tot classes for children aged 0-3, Focus classes for children aged 3-4, and Intermediate classes for children aged 7 and up.
Competitive Program
Our competitive program is designed for children who are interested in competing at the local, state, and national levels. Our program begins at Level 1, where gymnasts learn the basic skills that prepare them for competition, and continues through Level 10, where experienced gymnasts prepare for college careers. We also offer compulsory competitions within Alaska and optionals competitions out-of-state.
About Us
Arctic Gymnastics Center was founded in 1988 by Carolyn Crouch, Karin Carter, and Sheila Vonesh. In 2005, Dan and Nichole Alch took over the ownership and coaching of the center. Our coaches are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of each child.
