Public Academy For Performing Arts

At Public Academy for Performing Arts (PAPA), we are dedicated to providing a comprehensive education that fosters academic excellence, artistic exploration, and personal growth. Our mission is to create a New Mexico charter school that will provide an environment to develop an excellent academic and performing arts foundation for interested students. We believe that by emphasizing both academic and artistic development, we can help our students become well-rounded, confident, and creative individuals who are prepared to succeed in an ever-changing world.

Our History

PAPA was founded in 2001 by a group of community members who shared a vision for a school that would provide a unique blend of academic rigor and artistic expression. Since our humble beginnings, we have grown to become a thriving community of students, parents, and staff who are passionate about learning and the arts. Our school has been repeatedly recognized for its excellence, and we are proud to be a model for innovative education in New Mexico.

Our Services

At PAPA, we offer a comprehensive range of services designed to support our students' academic, artistic, and personal development. Our academic program features a college preparatory curriculum with Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment opportunities through the University of New Mexico and Central New Mexico Community College. Our performing arts program includes a wide range of disciplines, including music, dance, theater, and visual arts. We also provide support services, such as counseling, academic tutoring, and special education resources, to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
