The story of The Baltimore Upholstery Company begins in the winter of 1944 in Wake County, North Carolina. Our founder's grandmother, Pearlie, was a former sharecropper who inspired her to take up sewing at a young age. As a young girl, our founder would watch in awe as Pearlie skillfully worked on her foot-pedal sewing machine. It wasn't long before she was sewing herself, and by the age of 16, she was working in various upholstery shops in Baltimore. With years of experience under her belt, our founder decided to start The Baltimore Upholstery Company, driven by a passion for delivering exceptional quality and customer satisfaction.
