Arid Lands Greenhouses is a renowned succulent plant and cactus nursery situated in the heart of Tucson, Arizona, USA. We take pride in catering to both retail and wholesale customers, offering them a diverse range of succulent plants and cacti that are sure to add a touch of natural beauty to any space. Our nursery is open from Tuesday to Saturday, between 7 AM and 3 PM during the summer months. However, we recommend giving us a call before visiting, at 520-883-9404, to ensure that we are prepared to assist you. We warmly welcome walk-in customers and are committed to providing you with an exceptional plant-shopping experience.

For the protection of the plants during shipping and to minimize the risk of damaging other plants, we ship our plants bare root. For more information on plant care, shipping, and getting started with succulent plants, we encourage you to visit our 'Getting Started' and 'Plant Care Tips' sections. During winter months, when daytime temperatures approach freezing, we use heat packs to ensure the safe transportation of your plants. Please note that we are constantly updating our plant taxonomy and resources, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

To access our online catalog, you must create a customer account. We do not provide a printed catalog, but our online platform offers a wide variety of plants and detailed descriptions to help you make informed decisions. For wholesale orders, you must have a valid business resale license filed with us (Arizona Form 5000). We currently have a Wholesale List available for February 2024. Meet the Owners

Bob Webb and Toni Yocum, the proud owners of Arid Lands Greenhouses, have a combined 35 years of experience growing succulent plants. They have obtained many of their plants from Arid Lands Greenhouses before purchasing it in 2006. Having traveled extensively in Africa and Arabia, they have gained invaluable knowledge and insights into the world of succulent plants. Their adventures have taken them to Oman, Yemen, Socotra, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa. As Tucson natives, they are passionate about sharing their expertise and experiences with fellow succulent enthusiasts.

Our team at Arid Lands Greenhouses includes Eddie Silva, Angel Martinez, Tammy Clark, Carrie Rose, and Malcolm Luper, who are all dedicated to providing you with outstanding customer service and plant expertise. During your visit, you may also meet our friendly German shepherds, Kaspar and Katya.

Plant Care Suggestions

At Arid Lands Greenhouses, we understand that the key to growing healthy succulent plants goes beyond just the soil. While most succulent plants can adapt to a wide range of soil types, it is essential to consider other factors such as light, air movement, water, fertilizer, and container types and sizes. These elements all play a crucial role in creating the ideal environment for your succulent plants to thrive.

Our recommended soil mix consists of two parts pumice (50%), one part organic material (25%, such as peat moss or aged compost), and one part coarse sand (25%), which offers excellent drainage, water-holding capacity, nutrient-holding capacity, and aeration for optimal root growth. However, we understand that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to soil mixes, and encourage customers to experiment and find the best mix for their unique growing conditions.
