Apple Works Winery, situated on the scenic Behnke Estates, is a testament to the power of transformation and the love for fine wine. Once an apple orchard established over 30 years ago by world-renowned heart surgeon, Dr. W. Dudley Johnson, the property was acquired by Kevin Behnke in 2002 with the intention of preserving its rich history while exploring new possibilities. The apple orchard, which had provided healthy products and farm-life activities for the local community, inspired Kevin to embark on a new adventure in winemaking, honoring the property's legacy while introducing a novel offering to America's Heartland and the world.

Kevin Behnke, a forward-thinking engineer and entrepreneur, had already found success in the machinery rebuilding industry. His ability to build something from nothing or restore items to their former glory was now applied to the art of winemaking. With a commitment to craftsmanship and a dedication to relentless innovation, the Behnke family has carried on the Apple Works name and many of the original buildings, making them an integral part of the Apple Works Winery and Behnke Estates experience.

As a hand-crafted winery, Apple Works Winery specializes in traditional, warm-climate wines made right here in Wisconsin. Our wines range from dry to semi-sweet, catering to a variety of tastes and palates. Our offerings include:

Visiting Apple Works Winery: A Warm Experience for Wine Aficionados and Novices Alike

Our wine tasting room offers a warm, inviting atmosphere for you to learn about our winemaking process and sample a variety of wines. Our team is passionate about sharing their knowledge and love for wine with you, making your visit both educational and enjoyable. During select hours, we also offer Wisconsin cheese plates, antipasto plates, and fresh flatbread pizzas to complement your wine tasting experience.

The winery is open year-round for guests and private events. In the summer, visitors can enjoy our beautiful patio, while the winter months bring the warmth of our brick fireplace. While we welcome visitors over 21 years of age, we kindly ask that groups of six or more contact us in advance and note that carry-ins and pets are not permitted.
