Our History

Established in 1980, our family-based business has been passed down through three generations. Our founder, Ross Hughes, started auctioneering in the mid-1930s, and his son, Ed Hughes, founded Ed Hughes Auction and Real Estate in 1980. Today, Richie Hughes, the owner of Richie Hughes Auction & Real Estate, continues the legacy with over 30 years of experience in the auction business.

Meet Our Auctioneers

Richie Hughes, our lead auctioneer, grew up on a farm in rural Randolph County, where he learned the importance of hard work and dedication. With over 30 years of experience, he has been involved in more than 700 auctions and has earned a reputation for providing exceptional services to his clients. Zac Hughes, our co-auctioneer, brings over 20 years of experience to the firm and has been a licensed auctioneer for 15 years.
