Company Culture and Management
The reviews highlight a severely lacking management culture at US Xpress. Employees are treated as mere numbers, and their efforts are not valued. The acquisition by Knight/Swift did not improve things as hoped, and instead, highlighted their focus on expanding their industry footprint rather than improving company culture.
Workplace Issues
Reviewers experienced discrimination, unfair termination, and lack of support from HR representatives. There were instances of rumors, lies, and favoritism, which led to unfair treatment of employees. The company's actions contradicted their motivational messages, and inspirational speakers were seen as insincere.
Pay and Benefits
Employees were underpaid compared to industry standards, and there were issues with payment of last paychecks and commission pay. The company's per diem payment system was also criticized, with deductions made from paychecks for alleged overpayment.
Driver Experience
Drivers reported feeling undervalued and unsupported, with one reviewer being terminated for hitting a sign, which was seen as an unjust reason for termination. Another reviewer reported being submitted to a false background screening report, which had to be challenged and corrected.
Other Issues
Reviewers also reported rude behavior from US Xpress drivers, who parked in inappropriate areas, and issues with equipment and maintenance.
